My Easter Prayer For You: That You Will Understand How Incredibly Great God’s Power Is To Help Those Who Believe

Tomorrow is Easter!

Over the last few days, I've been thinking about what to share in my blog post this week in honor of Jesus' resurrection, and it has been difficult to decide. There are just so many good things I could share about and reflect on about Jesus.

But during my morning devotion, I finally settled on sharing this prayer penned by the apostle Paul in Ephesians 1:16-21 (TLB):

“I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you wisdom to see clearly and really understand who Christ is and all that he has done for you.

"I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future he has called you to share…

"I pray that you will begin to understand how incredibly great his power is to help those who believe him. It is that same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in heaven, far, far above any other king or ruler or dictator or leader.”

My Prayer For You

This Easter weekend, I’m praying this passage over you, and over myself. I’m praying for spiritual wisdom to really understand who Christ is and all He has done for us.

I’m praying for our hearts to be flooded with light so we can see all He has called us to in relationship with Him and in the good work He has given us.

I’m praying that, though it is beyond comprehension and we will never fully understand it, that we will begin to understand how incredibly great Jesus’ power is to help us as we believe.

And I’m praying that we will begin to grasp that the power we have access to through Jesus is the same power that raised Him from the dead!

Everything Is Possible With The Power Of Jesus

Many times in my journey of pursuing my purpose, my dreams, and my goals, I’ve struggled with a feeling of powerlessness. I’ve felt the frustration of knowing I needed something—be that skill, wisdom, connections, or financial resources—and feeling unable to attain what I knew I needed.

But regardless of how I might feel in any given moment, the truth is, the Holy Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives inside me (see also Romans 8:11). The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to help us every day in our everyday needs, assignments, and relationships. There is nothing we could ever need that Jesus within us does not have the power to supply.

In the words of Mark Batterson, “When Jesus walked out of the tomb on the third day, the word impossible was deleted from our dictionary.”

Nothing is impossible with Him!

Wherever you are in your journey today, I encourage you to spend some time reflecting on the power that raised Jesus from the dead, and meditating on the reality that if you are a follower of Jesus, that power is at work in your life.

That is Good News!

Exalting Jesus and celebrating with you this Easter!

In purpose, and faith,
