If Your Plans Are Postponed, Remember This

Can you believe that it’s been five years since Covid shut the world down?

Right before the lockdowns began, I remember reading in the newspaper that our local university was suspending in-person classes.

I was shocked. I had never heard of such a thing happening before. It seemed like an extreme action, yet little did I know it was just the beginning of everything being turned inside out.

Many people’s lives were disrupted or even changed forever due to illness as well as the ramifications of the lockdowns.

Churches were closed...

Speaking engagements were canceled...

Weddings were postponed...

Businesses were shuttered...

We were unmoored, and grief and discouragement seemed to surround us like an ocean fog.

Thankfully, we’ve put the lockdowns behind us. But just because that crisis is over doesn’t mean we’re immune to delayed dreams due to other causes.

So on this five-year anniversary of Covid, I want to share something I wrote during that time that I hope encourages you if you are wrestling with the sadness, fear, or frustration that can come with postponed plans.

It starts with a reference to Covid, but I invite you to replace it with anything that’s interfering with what you feel God has called you to do.
