COVID-19 Can't Stop God's Plan for You
/It’s hard to believe, but it’s been about ten months since communities in the US first started shutting down due to COVID. Since then, it’s been a roller coaster ride of canceled events, closed schools, lost jobs, and restricted travel.
As I’ve been listening to people I know talk about the sadness and discouragement they’re feeling related to the ongoing COVID-related restrictions, something I posted on Instagram last year came to mind, and I felt God prompting me to share it here this week.
Here’s what my post said:
COVID-19 can't stop God's plan for you.⠀
⠀
As your plans are put on hold, you might feel like your destiny is derailed. But it's not. God promises to work ALL things for our good. And nothing, not even a pandemic, can stop His purpose from coming to pass in your life.⠀
⠀
Consider two Old Testament heroes: Joseph and David. Joseph was given two prophetic dreams foretelling his future role as a powerful leader. But before his dreams came to pass, he was sold into slavery by his brothers. Then he was accused of a crime he didn't commit and thrown into prison. I'm sure he probably wondered how, given his circumstances, God’s plan for him could ever come to pass. ⠀
⠀
And then there's David. He was anointed as the future king of Israel. For a while, things were going pretty well. Then King Saul became insanely jealous of David and launched a campaign to murder him. David spent years hiding out in the desert, and we know he faced questions and discouragement during that time. This was not how things were supposed to be!
Both Joseph and David faced obstacles that seemed to put an end to God’s plans. But betrayal by brothers, wrongful accusations, and bloodthirsty kings could not stop God's purposes for Joseph and David. And the coronavirus won’t stop His plans for you. You might be taking a detour, but you will still get to your intended destination. Hold on. God’s got this, and He’s got you. He has good plans for you. Keep believing, keep trusting, keep holding on to His promises. Brighter days are ahead!
In purpose and faith,
P.S. Looks like you’re interested in pursuing a life of purpose and faith!

...Is it time to say goodbye to something in your life? Leaving can be hard because it can feel like losing—and sometimes it does come with a loss.
But so often what we let go of is vastly outweighed by what we gain when we open our hands in trust...
