Happy last day of November!

As you know (unless you're new to my online community—in which case, welcome!), at the close of every month, I share a few of my favorite listens, reads, and resources.

As we move into December, I hope these resources encourage and inspire you as you pursue a life of purpose, joy, and intimacy with God!

As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I’d love to hear from you! You can contact me here or through the comment section below!

In purpose and faith,

Finding Joy in Everyday Life...

Before we get to the resources, here are a couple of things that brought me joy this month!

The winter days in Fairbanks are cold, dark, and snowy, but we still try our best to enjoy the outdoors! For a fun, simple date, my husband and I love to get Thai takeout, eat at a scenic lookout, then go for a walk. These photos are from a walk we took a couple of weeks ago.

The winter days are short but the skies are beautiful.

I got to have coffee with fellow writer Jennifer Wier! Connecting with her and getting to chat about writing, books, and life in general is always a joy!

Resources to Inspire, Encourage, and Equip

I've been reading...

Fearless Prayer: Why We Don’t Ask and Why We Should by Craig Hazen

“According to the Lord himself, ‘asking’ is the center point of prayer. He wants us to bring our fruit-bearing requests to him bolding and with expectation for the blessing of his answer. He wants to hear our Fearless Prayer!”

—from Craig Hazen’s Fearless Prayer.

This little book is full of powerful encouragement for the praying Christian. In it, Craig not only sheds light on Jesus’ exhortation to “ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you,” but he also explains several reasons why Christians don’t ask.

I've also been reading...

"Remain Connected!" by Debbie Alsdorf

I really enjoyed this article about the importance of remaining connected to God as we seek to do Kingdom work. It’s written specifically for writers, but the encouragement and practical tips Debbie Alsdorf shares really can apply to any life role! You can read the article here.

A Christmas Devotional

Advent has begun!

If you’re looking for an Advent devotional to enjoy on your own, with your family, or with a group of friends, check out my devotional, Illuminating Jesus: Reflections on Jesus for Each Week of December.

The devotional contains four devotions, one for each week of December:

⭐ Week one explores Jesus as our Incarnate Creator and the gift of creativity.

⭐ Week two explores Jesus as the Fulfillment of the Promise and the gift of joy.

⭐ Week three explores Jesus as the Light and the gift of peace.

⭐ Week four explores Jesus as Immanuel and the gift of help.

It comes as an e-book for those who love to read, and I also created an audio version for those who prefer to listen.

You can learn more about the e-book devotional here and you can find the audio/e-book bundle here.

"Tender Tennessee Christmas” - Amy Grant

It’s not Christmas without Amy Grant. More than most, this song always reminds me of childhood Christmases.
