God Celebrates the Day You were Born!
/I just turned 34 on Sunday, which is cool, but also weird. How am I almost (I’m not claiming mid-thirties until I’m 35! So almost!) in my mid 30s? I guess getting older probably never stops feeling weird.
Anyway, a couple months ago I shared about how God once told me that He loves the day I was born (you can read that post here). It touches my heart so deeply to know that not only did my family rejoice when I was born, but God Himself was celebrating—and continues to celebrate—my existence.
But it’s not just my birth He’s excited about—He feels the exact same way about you!
With the utmost gentleness and care, you were woven together in your mother’s womb by God Himself (see Psalm 139). It is His love that set your heart beating, His breath that fills your lungs. It was with His divine creativity and imagination that He designed you—your personality, your passions, your purpose—everything just as He dreamed it to be.
You are an absolute masterpiece!
No matter what others might have said, your birth was not a mistake. It was not an accident or a misfortune. God danced and all of heaven delighted on the day you were born, and history is waiting for the fullness of the treasure God implanted in you to be revealed! You are loved, you are wanted, and you are thoroughly enjoyable!
In honor of all birthdays and our loving God who rejoices over us, I want to share a song that celebrates the beauty of your birth.
I can’t print the lyrics here because of copyright rules, but here’s a link to the song “History is Waiting” by Laura Woodley Osman. (If you like the song and want more, you can get the full album here—I highly recommend it!)
The entire song is beautiful, but I encourage you to pay special attention to the first verse. As you listen, let this truth sink in deep: All of heaven and earth gloried in your birth, and that celebration continues! And remember this: you have something precious the world needs that only you can offer. We are waiting and ready to receive the gift of you!
Tons of love and birthday blessings,
P.S. Looks like you’re interested in pursuing a life of purpose and faith!

...Is it time to say goodbye to something in your life? Leaving can be hard because it can feel like losing—and sometimes it does come with a loss.
But so often what we let go of is vastly outweighed by what we gain when we open our hands in trust...
